Messiah of Evil (1972)
An arthouse horror film reminiscent of Lets Scare Jessica to Death and 'Salem's Lot only with zombies. A woman becomes trapped in a town's dark secret when she comes to investigate the disappearence of her father. Im not sure if it was done intentionally, but the editing is very odd and choppy. The film is full of dreary and nightmarish sequences, the most memorable of which involves a movie theater full of zombies. This is not the typical gore fest, with mostly implied violence and terror, but it is psychologically driven and offers a unique twist that still leaves the audience guessing in the end. Recommended to Lets Scare Jessica... fans, although I feel Jessica is a much better film, but Fulci fans expecting blood and guts may be disappointed.
