Two college pledges and their makeshift friend head into the city to bring back a stripper for their fraternity initiation, only to find themselves trapped in the strip joint from hell when the After Dark Club turns out to be home to a clan of scantily clad vampiresses.
VAMP is an interesting concoction of varying influences, referencing both Bava and Argento through its unnatural green and magenta lighting, touching on the popular Greek college characters that ran rampant in the 70s and 80s, and sharing similar make-up and humor with Tom Holland's
FRIGHT NIGHT from a year earlier. Grace Jones steals the scene as the bestial Egyptian bloodsucker Katrina, leading the pack with her strong, silent demeanor, outrageous costumes, and overt sexuality. While the film does many interesting things visually, the plot hardly advances at all for over half of the run time. It can basically be reduced down to "We need a stripper, my friend is gone, let's find my friend, my friend is back, oh shit he's a vampire, they're all vampires, it's over." The quirky and often goofy humor carries the plot even in its weaker moments, and the characters are engaging enough to make this a fun but hopefully not forgotten 80s gem.

Fun movie, defenetly influenced by Fright Night. I think that Tarantino saw this movie, was let down by it and then decided to write From Dusk till Dawn, which practically has the same exact premise, only done way better.
