BLOOD WARS only proves one thing: anyone with a video camera can hire Tony Todd. Todd stars as the master of a coven of vampires who must face off against a protective order of warlocks know as the Sentries. A nerdy young college student is caught in the middle of this epic struggle, but the kiss from a lovely vampire might seal his fate forever... BLOOD WARS is the cinematic equivalent of two children playing with action figures. The cardboard characters are almost drawn as poorly as the plot, but it is almost made bearable by some of the sillier performances. It has no right being as funny as it is, yet the stupid humor does manage to sneak in a few laughs. If only the Sentries had only been left out completely, BLOOD WARS may have been able to get by as a passable no-budget vampire flick. Instead, we get more dry acting and atrocious dialog that only leads up to the absolute worst in amateur fight choreography and special effects. Tom Shell has a real stinker on his hands, and that's saying something for this Troma vet.
