The notorious serial killer 'The Reaper' has finally been killed by the police, or so it would seem... Sixteen years later, The Reaper takes possession of one of the seven teens that was born on the night of his supposed death in order to continue his bloody murder streak! It seems inconceivable that the man who brought us THE HILLS HAVE EYES and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET could have created such mindless drivel, but then again, this is also the same man who wrote and directed THE HILLS HAVE EYES PART II and SHOCKER as well... MY SOUL TO TAKE is so laughably bad that, at times, it seems like Wes Craven was attempting to write some sort of twisted horror comedy. The forced dialog is painfully dull and completely unnatural for the teen characters, but none more so than their awkward acting. Craven's unintelligible script is also the wrong platform to use against teen pregnancy, bullying, rape, and religion. MY SOUL TO KEEP does have a few excessively bloody deaths at the very least. Teen horror has hit a new low.
