The students at Bulimia Falls High School are in for a shock when "The Killer" begins offing kids around campus. It is up to a group of social misfits to fight their way through each of the poorly strung together Horror cliches if they hope to survive the night! This television-friendly version of SCARY MOVIE was just as quick to ride on the fame of the 1990's Slasher revival that occurred in the wake of SCREAM and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. It shoots for the lowest level of humor possible, and succeeds. SHRIEK is filled with awful puns, ridiculous physical gags, and idiotic characters -- and that is why it works. The film is entirely aware of itself and of just how bad it really is, which the characters frequently point out along the way. It dates itself severely with pop culture references that have long since been forgotten, but then, the filmmakers probably weren't shooting for a very long shelf life. Many of the gags run on way past the point of being funny, while others are just stupid enough to earn a guilty laugh. The title alone should set your expectations, so look to SHRIEK IF YOU KNOW WHAT I DID LAST FRIDAY THE 13TH for terrible humor at its finest!
