Something terrible has overtaken the small town of Tuckerman, with a series of strange deaths and suicides plaguing its residents. Robert returns to investigate the cause after the death of his first love, but nothing can prepare him for the horrifying truth... TUCKERMAN is the second feature film from Indie director Jimmy Westmoreland, a supernatural thriller that hints at THE SIXTH SENSE or STIR OF ECHOES. The constraints of no-budget filmmaking are always apparent despite the honest efforts that are put on display. A great deal of the exposition is spent trapped inside a small automobile, which suffocates the plot, slows the pace, and results in a stagnant overall production. It is often difficult to track which characters the lead, Robert, is speaking to when many of the conversations occur over the phone with individuals that only appear briefly in the film. The cause for the supernatural occurrences is always unclear as well, leaving the audience guessing even after the explanation in the end. The amateur cast does their best with the material, but these are not trained actors, and the emotional weight of the events is often lost on them. At its heart, there is a decent story that drives the cast and crew behind TUCKERMAN, but the execution suffers from their collective inexperience.
Rating: 3/10.
